From Promise to Blessing
Getting from your promise to your blessing is a process. There are four things involved getting you to the manifestation of what God has promised you: the promise, the test, what to do while you wait for the blessing to come, and receiving the blessing.
The Promise – This is the first stage where God will take you to the end of a thing and show you what is to come. It is imperative that you have the strength and courage to hold on to what He said no matter how long it takes to manifest. There are times when the promises sound so bizarre (like God telling Abraham his wife Sarah would bare him a son at their age). You still have to believe what He say will come to pass. He cannot lie, He cannot die, and He doesn’t make mistakes.
The Test – This is the roughest stage for most of us. It’s where the majority of us give up and faint. The test is knowing what to do, and doing it. What you do is just believe God. He never fails. No matter what it looks like or how long it takes for things to manifest. Just believe God. He will never let you down.
What to do While you Wait – This is what I like to call, “In the Meantime”. This is the stage where you plan and prepare for the promise given to you. For more details on this stage click here.
Receiving the Blessing – Our favorite stage. Receiving the blessing is an awesome experience. Sometimes I feel like it’s Christmas all over again when I get one. There are times when it is difficult to receive one. Especially when it doesn’t come the way you expected it to. You were expecting the blessing, but not the way it came. Lately, I have experienced that in my life. It’s a wonderful thing. I was just looking for it to happen a different way. Only thing is, the way I thought it would come, I honestly don’t think I would have received it. It’s always good that God knows us better than we know ourselves. He plans all things well. The best way to receive your blessing, is to let it happen. Just tell God thank you and enjoy it the way He gave it to you. Remember the next time you receive a blessing that blows your mind because of the way God delivered, ask yourself, “Would I have accepted it if it came the way I wanted it to come”. If you’re honest, the answer will be no. I’m so glad God knows me better than I know myself. Are you?
